Shigaraki Plate|vidro
from €18.00

Shigaraki|The Vidro Series

The Vidro series is defined by its jewel-like centerpiece, catching the light at the heart of each design.

Handmade one by one, each plate has a reassuring weight and thickness. The glazed surface is smooth to the touch, while the underside has a rougher, more textured feel.

These plates are made in Shigaraki, a town renowned for its pottery, at Shigaraki Seinenryo. Shigaraki ware is known for its rustic, earthy character that lets the clay speak for itself. Rather than being fully controlled by human hands, it embraces the beauty that emerges from the interplay of clay and fire. With the Japanese belief that true beauty resides in imperfection, Shigaraki ware has been beloved in the world of tea ceremony for centuries.

Size|L 17cm × 17cm × 0.5cm (310g) / M 15cm × 15cm × 0.5cm (270g)

As each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike in appearance or specification. Some photos are for reference only; the actual product may differ slightly, with size variations of up to approximately 1cm.

Dishwasher safe. However, as Shigaraki ware is made with a coarser clay, it tends to absorb water more easily. To ensure long-lasting use, we recommend letting the piece dry thoroughly after each wash.
